The West Virginia Dialect Project

The West Virginia Dialect Project (WVDP) learns about dialects in the Mountain State in order to build better education programs and conduct research about language variation.

We pursue both educational and research goals in collaboration with linguists around the world.

The WVDP is part of the Department of English in the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV, USA.
