Lowell Duckert

Associate Professor

My research interests include early modern literature, ecocriticism, and the “new materialisms” (especially actor-network theory). In general, my work attempts to reconceive the relationships between humans and nonhumans in our own time through ecotheorizations of premodern wet worlds. I am currently completing a book manuscript on early modern waterscapes, desire, and more-than-human forms of textual and corporeal composition. Enter, Wet: Composing with Water in Early Modern Drama and Travel Literature is forthcoming from the University of Minnesota Press.
