Tim Sweet is author of American Georgics: Economy and Environment in Early American Literature (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2002) and Traces of War: Poetry, Photography, and the Crisis of the Union (Johns Hopkins University Press, 1990). His edited collection Literary Cultures of the American Civil War was published by the University of Georgia Press (2016).  His current book project, "Extinction and the Human," examines agency and responsibility in extinction discourse.
