Katy Ryan teaches twentieth-century US American literature, performance studies, prison studies, and drama. She has published on works by Marilynne Robinson, James Baldwin, Nella Larsen, Toni Morrison, Suzan-Lori Parks, Tim Miller, as well as documentary films that examine the prison industry, the death penalty, and the housing crisis in the United States.
