Advising

How to Schedule an Advising Appointment Using Navigate

The Department of English Advising Office is a clearinghouse for information about departmental courses, university requirements, career information, internship information, scholarships and fellowships, and departmental activities (including guest speakers, workshops, and field trips).

Our advisors are specially trained and designated full-time faculty in English. By having dedicated faculty advisors, we aim to maximize consistency and availability. Students are assigned to both faculty advisors and are welcome to work with either of us.

English majors: We will help you select courses, chart a plan of study, understand requirements, choose a minor or even a second major, or any other advising matter. You must meet with an advisor at least once per semester during the pre-registration period.

Potential majors or minors: We will help you understand the major or minor requirements, assist you in adding English to your current curriculum, or answer any other questions you have about the Department.

You must register for an appointment using Navigate
