Geoffrey Hilsabeck

Visiting Assistant Professor

I am the author of one full-length collection of poetry, Riddles, Etc. (The Song Cave, 2017), and two chapbooks, Vaudeville (The Song Cave, 2012) and The Keepers of Secrets (The Kenyon Review, 2004). My poems have appeared in The New York Times Magazine, The Believer, Tupelo Quarterly, 6X6, and other publications. I also writes essays on literature and art, which have appeared in Paris Review Daily, The Millions, Lit Hub, The Chronicle of Higher Education, and elsewhere. I have an M.F.A. from the Iowa Writers Workshop and an M.A. from the University of Chicago.

My recent courses include Foundations of Literary Study, Poetry Workshop, Creative Writing Workshop, and Composition, Rhetoric, and Research.

In addition to being a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of English, I serve as the Community Outreach Fellow at the WVU Humanities Center.
