Undergraduate Students
Students can earn a BA in English with an emphasis in
Literary and Cultural Studies,
Professional Writing and Editing, or
Creative Writing. These areas of emphasis are in addition to our new
BA in Professional Writing and Editing and BS in
Scientific and Technical Writing.
New Writing Studies Major
Starting in Fall of 2023, our new Writing Studies major gives students two new degree
options: a
BA in Professional Writing and Editing and a
BS in Scientific and Technical Writing. These new degrees help students learn
how to translate complex information into clear prose for diverse audiences and
analyze how information flows through organizational structures. A BA or BS in
Writing Studies also applies these skills in a
capstone internship with a local business, non-profit, or government agency.
