Sigma Tau Delta Celebrates Its Fortieth Anniversary
In 2016-2017, the Department of English’s Alpha Xi Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta celebrated its fortieth anniversary. At its October initiation, Presidents Elana Zambori, Krislin Nuzum, and Meredith Ramella inducted thirty-three new members who pledged to advance the study of literature, to promote the mastery of written expression, and to foster a spirit of fellowship among students of English language and literature.
During 2016-2017, the Alpha Xi Chapter celebrated Banned Book Week in the Fall and the Colors of Love, African-American Read-In, in the Spring and nominated and selected the English Department’s Outstanding Professor. The winner of the members’ vote, Professor Katy Ryan, was announced at the department’s Honors Luncheon in April and had her name engraved on the plaque that hangs on the wall of the central stairway of Colson Hall.
