Tim Sweet is author of Extinction and the Human: American Narratives from the Pleistocene to the Anthropocene (University of Pennsylvania Press, forthcoming), American Georgics: Economy and Environment in Early American Literature (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2002), and Traces of War: Poetry, Photography, and the Crisis of the Union (Johns Hopkins University Press, 1990).
